少欲知足，就没有一切的麻烦来了。

By diminishing desires and finding contentment, nothing at all will disturb us.

我们修道时，最重要的是不争；不争是不和任何人争长论短，争是争非。

When we cultivate, the most important thing is to avoid contention.

Not contending means neither disputing people’s virtues or failings, nor disputing rights and wrongs.

修道时不用强力去对抗障碍，如果你真诚，障碍会自然地冰消瓦解。

In cultivation, obstacles are not eliminated by force.

If we are sincere, obstacles will melt away of themselves.

道德就等于日月，也等于天地，也等于人的性命。

没有道德，就等于人没有性命，没有日月天地一样。

Virtue can be likened to the sun and moon, to heaven  and earth, and to human existence.

The absence of virtue can be likened to the extinction  of human life, the sun and moon, heaven and earth.

你没有杂念，也没有妄想，这不是极乐世界吗？

When free of any distractions or idle thoughts, are we  not in the Land of Ultimate Bliss?

你没有贪心了，才能放下。放下，才能得到自在。

你能得到自在，然后才能开大智慧，大开圆觉。

Devoid of greed, one is able to let go. Able to let go, one is at ease.

When one is at ease, one is able to realize great wisdom and full awakening.

不论你有什么过错，若能改，前途还是有光明的。

Whatever your past mistakes, if you are able to change, your future can still be bright.

人持戒，就是清净自在，将自性黑暗一扫而空。

People who observe the moral precepts are pure and at ease, able to sweep away the darkness that covers their true nature.

学佛要学慈悲、道德、原谅人；

不和人起对待，不和人起斗争。

In perfecting the study of Buddhism, one learns to be kind, virtuous, and forgiving, and not to argue or contend with others.

万事万物都在转法轮，人在转人的法轮，松鼠在转松鼠的法轮。你若明白了，就听到明白的法；若不明白，就听到愚痴的法。

Everything and everyone is turning the Dharma wheel.

Humans turn the Dharma wheel of humans.

Squirrels turn the Dharma wheel of squirrels.

If you understand, what you hear will be the Dharma of understanding.

If you do not understand, what you hear will be the Dharma of ignorance.

真正的快乐，是无求的，到无求处便无忧。

True happiness comes from seeking nothing. When we seek nothing, all worries end.

人不成佛，就是因为尽在口头禅上用功夫。

If people do not realize Buddhahood, it is because they merely talk and do not practice.

你若懂了，事事都是“西来祖师意”；

若不懂，“样样都生气”。

If we understand, the intent of the Patriarch come from the west is reflected in every matter.

If we do not understand, our temper is primed to flare in every situation.
